Topic Editor Responsibilities

Propose a Topic: Submit a detailed proposal (title, scope, rationale, potential contributors).

Refine Scope: Work with the editorial team to finalize scope, keywords, and timeline.

Promote the Topic: Actively attract high-quality submissions through professional networks.

Handle Peer Review: Manage the review process, select reviewers, and make final decisions.

Ensure Ethics: Uphold integrity and ethical standards.

Write an Editorial: (Optional) Contribute an introductory editorial.

 

Topic Editor Ethics

Objectivity: Decisions based solely on academic merit.

Confidentiality: Protect all manuscript information.

Conflict of Interest: Declare and recuse from handling manuscripts with personal or professional conflicts.

Fair and Timely Review: Conduct reviews respectfully and within agreed timelines.

Adherence to Guidelines: Follow all TSSHR and Upubscience publication policies.

 

Topics Proposals

We invite established researchers to propose new Topics. Submit a Topic Proposal Application including:

Title – Clear and engaging.

Editors – 2–3 proposed Guest Editors with affiliations and expertise.

Aim & Scope – Theme description, importance, and objectives (300–500 words).

Keywords – 8–10 relevant terms.

Relevance – Timeliness and significance for the global research community.

Contributors – Potential authors (if available).

Participating Journals – Indicate if for TSSHR alone or in collaboration.

Proposals are reviewed by the TSSHR Editorial Board, and we will assist you in refining and launching the Topic.

 

Editorial Procedure of Submissions to Topics

Submission: Authors submit manuscripts via the TSSHR system, selecting the Topic.

Initial Check: Editorial office checks scope, formatting, and ethics.

Peer Review: Guest Editors assign independent experts for single-anonymized review.

Evaluation and Decision: Guest Editors make decisions (accept, revise, reject) based on reviewer reports.

Revision: Authors resubmit revised manuscripts with point-by-point responses.

Final Decision: Guest Editors evaluate revisions and make final decisions.

Publication and Collection: Accepted articles are published online with a DOI and added to the Topic webpage, indexed in CNKI, Google Scholar, and other databases.
